This is how I see the myth
This is a temple dedicated to the Honour of the
Creator Sun God Ra
This story
is from my point of view:
The
sun is pure, the sun gives life and with the sun we find the moon who is the
magic of life
The
sun and the moon is in union
His aids were:
*Heka, God of magic, who was the spirit of the creation
*Ma'at, Goddess of order, truth and justice on whose shoulders he stood
*Thoth, the scribe, who noted that what was done.
*Hu - The sacred words
*Sia - The wysdom of all
*The sacred sight of all
A black chaotic nothingness reigned and consumed all the darkness which was the Primordial waters Nun.
It was a mass of swirling materia, of molecules and atoms flinging itself from
side to side and had no meaning of reason.
From this debris of chaos a entity called himself together for his spirit saw
that there was an opportunity to create and the time was just right to do these
things.
This being was male and female. He called himself Atum -
the beginning.
He saw the chaos which consumed all and decided to bring order about. He
ejaculated into this chaos and brought order and life.
Order slowly settled in and the nothingness, the tossing and swirling materia itoms and molecules came together and worlds,galaxies and space systems came into being.
He choose one planet to walk on and land here in the form of the Ben-Ben
Now he is reborn from the sacred Khepri to walk the earth.
He is young and full of life and he create.
He grow up to be Ra.
He saw that the world was not good to house himself and those he wish to create so he fathered Shu and Tefnut who in turn gave life to Geb and Nut.
Thus the 4
corners of the planet which was to be called earth was formed: Air, Moisture,
Earth and the sky.
Now one must remember this creation process took long time and over the next
few centuries He experiemented with all the worlds and what was on it until he
found what he was looking for - that which we know today.
To complete this Heliopolitan Ennead of creation Osiris (Ausar), Isis (Aset),
Set (Seth) and Nephthys were born.
Now Ra was alone and he wanted people to cultivate the lands so in his
loneliness he cried and his tears brought forth men and women.
All humans
is thus created in goodness with no sin. They all carry the essence of
creation and the Divine in them.
Ra saw that he created the best masterpiece ever and he then took the title of king, of Pharoah to reign over his creations.
He brought forth the idea in man/woman to treat all as sacred and thus Gods and Goddesses from this divine blessing was called into being to help the human creations on this world to life, to
cultivate , to learn, to enjoy the gifts and life and to populate. But mostly to understand all around them.
Everything was good until Ra reached the old age and was now called Atum.
The people saw his age and rebelled against him.
Ra got angry and then set forth his Right Eye to devour all for he was saddened by their transgressions after all the good and gifts he bestowed on them.
He called back his devourer when the destruction was to a close and then send the Goddess Horus to lighten human hearts and find the beauty of life again.
Now Osiris was made pharoah - he who was young and could work
better with the human creations.
And when the time came Horus would reign as Pharoah over the lands
Isis would teach the human skills, be a mother and heal
Sekhmet would protect and heal
Hathor would bring music and spendour
Bast would bring gentlenss and healing
Horus would bring guidance, protection and healing
Osiris would guide us in the afterlife
Ra knew his choices were good and that he left mankind in good hand for their were many Gods and Goddesses who walked beside the humans guiding them to the Everlasting reeds with Him.
He is now the old aged one and he decided that he will not walk with us on earth anymore but that he will in silently watch over his creations and bless them with the sun everyday in a lot of different ways.
